Can you have a guess why it's named "broken bridge"? It has sth to do with the snow...

I had no answers to your questions, but I checked on the net and found a possible explanation to the "broken bridge": the snow smelts first on one side of the bridge. As that also you answer?
As for the white snake, I believe it has something to do with a snake having taken a human form - a woman?
